Filing: ExxonMobil Reports Flaring at Baytown CLE Unit Maria Eugenia Garcia DTN Energy Editor HOUSTON, TX (DTN) -- ExxonMobil today reported an emission event at its 588,000 bpd Baytown, Texas, refinery following an interruption of the supply of make-up water to flare seal drum during planned maintenance to replace thin piping. "Make-up water was restored to the flare seal drum. Operational adjustments were made to stabilize operations and minimize emissions," the company said in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The incident, which affected the Catalytic Light Ends Unit, began at 3:00 PM local time Wednesday (7/9) and concluded this morning at 4:59 AM local. The company reported that monitoring data, along with other available information, indicated no adverse environmental impact to the refinery site or surrounding Baytown community.
